Your Windows XP desktop displays a number of icon that allows you to access your applications, files, folders, documents, many other programs and other computers.
These icons may be aligned in left side of your desktop or they may be separated randomly across the entire desktop.

There are five icons that appear on virtually all Windows XP Professional desktop. These are My Documents, My Computer, My Network Place,  Recycle Bin  and Internet Explorer.
